FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (ABC 36 News Now) — A Franklin County man accused of killing his son is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing.
Steven Girtley, 60, is charged with murder in the death of his son, 36-year-old Justin Girtley. According to Kentucky State Police, the incident occurred on November 9 during an argument on Flat Creek Road. Investigators allege that Steven Girtley shot his son before fleeing the scene.
Authorities launched a manhunt, and Girtley remained on the run for several days. On November 14, troopers located him hiding inside a barn on his property, where he was arrested and taken into custody.
