AIKEN, S.C. (WJBF) - One person is dead following a chase with police in Aiken County. It happened just before 1 a.m. on Monday near Laurens Street NW and Hampton Avenue NW. South Carolina High Patrol says the suspect, who was also the driver, lost control of their 2017 Kia SUV, went off the road, overturned and crashed into a tree. The driver died at the scene. He has been identified as 39-year-old Michael Bailey of Norfolk, Virginia. The sole passenger was taken to Wellstar MCG in Augusta. No other details have been released at this time.
