Pedestrian fatally struck on U.S. 61 in Maplewood, State Patrol says

A 24-year-old man was struck and killed Monday morning on southbound U.S. 61 in Maplewood, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. Authorities say the driver of a 2024 Kia Sportage heading southbound on Highway 61 near Minnesota 36 struck the pedestrian at about 5:45 a.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity and hometown were not immediately available Monday evening.
