Massive brush fire burns in Cranston

CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters are battling a massive brush fire that broke out in a Cranston neighborhood Monday night.
Flames could be seen shooting from the woods between Eva Lane and Locust Glen Drive as a thick plume of smoke billowed into the sky.

The neighborhood is situated near I-295 close to the Warwick city line. Firefighters are working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes and onto the highway.
It's unclear what caused the fire or if anyone has been injured.
