CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) — Firefighters are battling a massive brush fire that broke out in a Cranston neighborhood Monday night. Flames could be seen shooting from the woods between Eva Lane and Locust Glen Drive as a thick plume of smoke billowed into the sky. FIRE WEATHER FORECAST: What’s the risk level right now? The neighborhood is situated near I-295 close to the Warwick city line. Firefighters are working to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes and onto the highway.
