SIOUX FALLS S.D. (KELO) -- The newly-reelected Dusty Johnson describes fellow South Dakotans Kristi Noem and John Thune as quote "tremendous leaders and tremendous patriots."

President-elect Donald Trump picked Noem to be secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, and John Thune's colleagues picked him as the next Senate majority leader. Looking forward, Johnson says the country's concerns require cooperation.
"We can only tackle those problems if we're working together," Johnson said. "Politics is a team sport and our constitution spreads power out far and wide. That means if you're going to get big things done, you gotta have the agreement of the House and the Senate and the White House. Any one of those outfits can block progress. And that's why we absolutely need to be working together, and we will be, to make sure that we're moving America in the right direction."
Earlier this month, Johnson secured a fourth-consecutive two-year term in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington.
