OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A mother killed in a southeast Oklahoma City car crash last week was laid to rest on Monday.
Talisa Doonkeen's family said she suffered from narcolepsy and experienced an episode behind the wheel.
Now, they're focused on moving forward with her surviving 5-month-old baby.
"She was so sweet. She did everything she could to be a good daughter," said Alfreda Doonkeen, Talisa's Aunt. "She fell asleep at the wheel."
Talisa's family said she had health issues since she was a child.
"I do know that she had narcolepsy and she had these giant adenoids that whenever she would sleep at night, she couldn't breathe," said Doonkeen.

Talisa's 5-month-old baby, Tampa May, was in the backseat at the time of the crash.
"She has a broken femur on her right leg, and she's in this weird kind of hooked up harness, and she's going to be in there for at least three weeks," said Doonkeen. "She also has a fractured skull."
Talisa's family said they're thankful they are able to reminisce about her through her baby.
"She did take a long time to put the baby in the right way backwards, strapped in, connected to those metal things in the back seat," said Doonkeen. "She was a fantastic mother for that baby, fantastic."
Talisa's aunt said she plans on raising her baby with the help of family members.
