One dead in twovehicle crash on State Highway 17 in Oneida County

PINE LAKE, Wis. (WFRV) - One person is dead following a two-vehicle crash on State Highway 17 in Oneida County on Monday afternoon.
According to a release, the crash occurred on Nov. 18, 2024, shortly before 1:15 p.m., just south of the intersection of Mud Lake Road.

Authorities reported that the crash appeared to be a head-on collision. The driver of the southbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the northbound vehicle was injured and flown to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the northbound driver collided with the southbound vehicle, which had reportedly crossed over the centerline.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending family notification.

State Highway 17 will remain closed until a crash reconstruction is completed. The southbound detour is Cross Country Road to Pine Lake Road to County Highway W. Northbound traffic should take County Highway W to Pine Lake Road to Cross Country Road.
