Ku Klux Klan flyers found throughout northern Indiana communities calling for mass deportation

GOSHEN, Ind. (WSBT) — Some Indiana neighborhoods were met with eye opening flyers Monday morning and Sunday night.
Ku Klux Klan flyers were found in Goshen earlier Monday calling for the mass deportation of immigrants.
Kentucky-based Trinity White Knights of the KKK claimed responsibility for distributing the flyers.
People in several communities were startled to see the flyers, especially in a diverse community like Goshen.
Flyer distributed throughout northern Indiana reading, "leave now, avoid deportation."

"It was disturbing, and we walked the dogs afterwards and these flyers were just scattered all over the road,” said Phil Waite, lives in Goshen.
The flyers were first seen in Goshen Sunday evening.
And even around noon Monday, WSBT 22 found more scattered around the neighborhood.
Waite found a few Sunday.
"Like to send, to have flyers like this, in the open and targeted in this kind of way. This kind of sentiment is out there, I know it's out there. There are people who feel this way, so that's not surprising. But it's shocking to have it come to your doorstep,” said Waite.
Goshen Mayor Gina Leichty released the following statement:
To our Goshen Community,
This past weekend, some Goshen residents discovered racist recruitment fliers from a Kentucky-based chapter of the Ku Klux Klan littered on their lawns. These fliers, intended to spread fear and division, urged residents to spy on their neighbors and report them to authorities. Similar incidents have occurred in nearby cities, with police confirming that this group periodically conducts such activities to recruit members.
Let me be clear: Goshen stands united against any form of discrimination, intimidation, or harassment.
Our local law enforcement remains focused on its mission of serving and protecting all residents. Hate-filled messages like those distributed this weekend have no place in our community.
Goshen was founded and has prospered through the contributions of immigrants from all continents. Each generation of newcomers has shaped our community’s identity, enriching our culture and driving our success. We remain committed to ensuring that all who work toward the good of Goshen are treated with dignity and respect.
Immigration policy is a complex issue that must be addressed thoughtfully at the federal level. We urge our representatives in Washington to work toward bipartisan solutions that meet the needs of all communities while upholding the principles of our nation.
Thank you
-- Goshen Mayor Gina Leichty
These flyers are not just specific to Goshen, but also 25 miles away in South Bend.
"Somebody's trash broke open, so I went to go pick it up, and I noticed that it truly was trash. These flyers that I find absolutely repulsive and unacceptable to be in our community,” said Karen Thomas, lives in South Bend.
And similarly to the people WSBT 22 spoke with in Goshen, Thomas is upset but not surprised.
"I'm not overly surprised, but I find it, like I said, it saddens me, and it is very disheartening to see this anywhere in our country, in our city, in my community. In this community, I should say,” said Thomas.
WSBT 22 received an email from someone alleging the Trinity White Knights of the KKK are responsible for to passing out thousands of flyers Sunday night.
The cited cities that received the flyers were Valparaiso, Michigan City, South Bend, Elkhart, Goshen, Plymouth, Warsaw, Rochester, Westfield, Carmel, and Fishers.
