MINOT, N.D. (KXNET) — As people, businesses, and city crews prepare for the first snowfall of the season some stores are seeing more customers coming through. Although people in North Dakota are usually ready ahead of time, it never hurts to pick up a few last-minute items. We stopped by the Ace Hardware store in Minot and spoke with the owner, who says they're ready for the rush. More details emerge on man arrested for sex crime in Minot Owner Jennifer Slind tells us business has been fairly steady, and that people have already come in over the weekend looking for ice melt, shovels, and snow blowers — but you don't necessarily have to purchase a big ticket item to be prepared. "You know, you can always shovel," says Slind. "As long as you have a couple of good shovels, you don't necessarily always have to have a snowblower. It makes it nice, but if you have an ice scraper and shovels in your car, you are ready for whatever comes your way." Slind adds that North Dakotans are usually paying attention to the weather — and if you think you may need something to deal with an oncoming storm, it's best to get it ahead of time.
