ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A 14-year-old student was arrested on Monday and accused of bringing a gun to a school in Albuquerque, according to the District Attorney's Office. La Cueva High School went into shelter-in-place on Friday after the student allegedly was seen flashing a gun on campus, Principal Maurice Guerin wrote in a letter to parents last week. Officials said the student was detained and his backpack was searched. The 14-year-old was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center Monday morning on a charge of unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on school premises. Principal Guerin said students reported the incident to school officials. APS and the Albuquerque Police Department officers responded to the incident.
