Park City police blotter: Turning violations, vehicle burglary reported

On Sunday, Nov. 17, Park City police officers pulled over several drivers for suspected turning violations in the morning and early afternoon. In one of the cases, reported at 9:41 a.m., the driver reportedly made an “extremely wide right turn that placed him in oncoming traffic,” according to public police logs. The person told the police the vehicle has “wide rims and tires that rub if he turns too sharp,” according to the logs. The driver received a warning.A traffic accident involving one vehicle was reported at 8:13 a.m. on Marsac Avenue, apparently south of Old Town. The vehicle left the road as a result of the accident, the police said. Someone in the vehicle suffered unspecified injuries, according to the police.The police at 4:28 a.m. received a complaint about parking issues along Poison Creek Lane. The person who contacted the police said drivers are continuing to leave vehicles on the street during prohibited hours and the vehicles were “going to impede snow removal this morning,” according to department logs.The police at 12:08 a.m. received a report involving unspecified property damage at a Main Street business. There was a person “being violent” in relation to the case, the police were told. The department logged the case as a business assist rather than a suspected criminal matter.On Saturday, Nov. 16, at 9:51 p.m., the police received a call from someone reporting to be “locked” in a bathroom in a Main Street building. The police described the circumstances as suspicious.The police at 8:20 a.m. received a complaint about a snowplow removing “the cap off the sewer” on Trailside Court. The person was unable to move the cap, the police were told. The agency described the case as a traffic hazard.Someone at 1:59 a.m. reported “a lot of loud music” from Main Street that could be heard from a house on a nearby street. The person wanted “the party to be shut down,” according to public police logs. The police classified the case as suspected disturbing the peace.A police officer at 12:56 a.m. stopped a driver on S.R. 224, indicating the vehicle was traveling in a lane in the wrong direction on the state highway. A license plate was obstructed as well, the police said. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.A Park City police officer pulled over a driver on eastbound Interstate 84 in a case described as involving a suspected drunken driver. It is unusual for an officer for the Park City agency to conduct a traffic stop so far outside the municipal limits.On Thursday, Nov. 14, at 2:18 p.m., an officer pulled over a driver after observing the vehicle make a “wide right turn” from Bonanza Drive to Kearns Boulevard.
