The move includes changes to the tasting menu and kitchen team Jacqueline has sailed into a new home on Southeast Clinton street. After eight years at the corner of Southeast 21st Avenue, the seafood-centric Pacific Northwestern restaurant moved three blocks east into the former La Moule space, and reopened on November 9. News of the move was first reported by the Oregonian’s Michael Russell in August.
With the move, the restaurant has adopted other changes, extending its popular $1 oyster happy hour from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A new tasting menu format offers a seafood tower with oysters, smoked mussels in tom kha, oyster shooters, crudos, shrimp cocktail, and rotating daily additions; a whole grilled fish with multiple sides; and desserts. The tasting menu is priced at $75 per person.

Led by chef and owner Derek Hanson, the restaurant team has made monumental changes to its lineup as well. General manager Jonathan Staehr returns to Jacqueline after stints at Langbaan and Eem, chef de cuisine Jamie Wilcox joins the team after leaving his executive chef position at Tartuca, pastry chef Mandy Groom moves over from Quaintrelle, and bar manager Vanessa Magana comes on board from Kann.
The new space, which has been renovated since it was vacated by the short-lived neighborhood bar Baker’s on January 1, has inherited the old oyster bar from Maylin Chavez’s Olympia Oyster Bar. Paintings from the bygone Woodsman Tavern now hang on the wall alongside Jacqueline’s iconic Steve Zissou portrait, illuminated by light fixtures formerly belonging to Castagna.
The Fair Weather concept, which opened during COVID lockdown in January 2021, will be resurrected in the former Jacqueline space. Details have yet to emerge, but Hanson shares that the restaurant will run brunch and coffee service in the mornings, a small dinner program, and events.
Jacqueline is open at 2500 SE Clinton Street.
