Power restored to thousands across Jefferson, Orleans parish

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Over 8,000 Entergy customers were without power on Monday morning, Nov. 18 in parts of Jefferson and Orleans parishes.
The outage reportedly happened around 7 a.m. stretching from Bark Street in Harvey to Patterson Drive in Algiers.

Entergy officials reported 6,702 customers were affected in Jefferson Parish and 2,851 in Orleans Parish. They determined that the location of the outage was the Gretna Substation.
"Crews are on site now working to restore customers as quickly and as safely as possible. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available," said Entergy officials.
As of 12 p.m. all power was restored to homes, businesses and traffic lights.
Algiers Ferry Terminal set to start major renovation
The cause of the outage remains under investigation. Power is expected to be restored by noon according to Entergy officials.
