Andrews Elementary School teacher accused of assaulting students with disabilities, Burlington police say

BURLINGTON, N.C. (WGHP) -- A teacher accused of assaulting students with disabilities was arrested on Monday, according to a Burlington Police Department news release.
On Friday, the BPD got a report that Jessica Edwards, a 26-year-old teacher at Andrews Elementary School, had physically assaulted students on school property.
Following a police investigation, Edwards was charged with four counts of assault on individuals with a disability.
The assaults happened over the past weeks, police say.
Edwards was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center on Monday and given a $15,000 secured bond.
The Alamance-Burlington School System is cooperating fully with the BPD as the investigation continues.
