BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- The Buffalo Sabres have sent goaltender Devon Levi to the AHL's Rochester Americans. Playing time has been hard to come by this season for Levi. The 22-year-old has struggled in limited playing time, posting a save percentage of .870 in seven games. "We’ve got to get him some games, get him playing," Ruff said. "It’ll be the best thing for him. I think this is the first time in his career he’s dealt with, I think it was one game in a month. That’s not easy on a goaltender, that’s not easy on a young goaltender because you need to find some rhythm. You need to see a game-like chaos, which you don’t get in practice." Ruff said that Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, the team's starting goaltender, is back to full health. Luukkonen was pulled after two periods in Buffalo's game against the Montreal Canadiens on Nov. 11 due to a minor ailment. James Reimer will serve as Buffalo's No. 2 goaltender. The veteran returned to the team last week after he was claimed off waivers from Anaheim. In a corresponding move, Buffalo recalled forward Isak Rosen from Rochester. Rosen has 13 points in 14 games for the Americans this season. In other Sabres injury news, Ruff said center Tage Thompson is close to getting back to 100 percent. Thompson suffered a lower-body injury against the Canadiens. Forward Jordan Greenway has been downgraded and is considered week-to-week.
