Queen Camilla and the rest of the British royal family are mourning the loss of her longtime canine sidekick Beth. The Jack Russell Terrier had an untreatable tumor and had to be put down over the weekend, People reported Monday. The dog had been the Queen’s constant companion since 2011, when she adopted the pet from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in South London. A year later another dog, the same breed, joined them, also from Battersea. Queen Camilla doted on Beth, as evidenced by the photo montage the royal family posted on its social media accounts. Beth and Bluebell also stole the show in the couple’s 15th-anniversary photos, which featured them snuggled in the monarchs’ laps. So devoted was Camilla to her pups that she had their likenesses embroidered in gold thread on her coronation gown.
