A Chula Vista police pursuit of a stolen motorcycle ended when the rider crashed into the back of a vehicle stopped near an intersection Sunday, ejecting him and his passenger, police said. The 39-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in the crash. They were reported in stable condition at a hospital, police said. The incident began after police were notified that a license plate reader camera had spotted the stolen motorcycle on Main Street east of Interstate 805 shortly after 5:30 p.m. Officers attempted to pull over the rider, but he failed to yield and drove off, driving west on Main Street and eventually crashing near the intersection of Main Street and Third Avenue. Two women in the stopped vehicle that was hit also were injured in the crash. They were transported to the hospital after complaining of pain, police said.
