Tracking wet and possibly wintry weather in Massachusetts this week
Nov 18, 2024
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - As the drought across western Massachusetts continues, there is a chance for some relief at the end of the week.
Almost all of Massachusetts continues to see severe drought conditions as we have barely seen rain over the past few months. With the drought, the risk of brush fires has been high and there have been many fires that have happened across the state.
Lack of rain heightening brush fire risks across region
Thankfully there could be some well-needed rain in sight at the end of the week for Thursday. A lot of our models continue to show an area of low pressure that could drop an inch or more of rain across southern New England.
7 Day Forecast
While this won't end the drought, it will help put a dent in it and mitigate the risk of brush fires. There even could be some wet snowflakes that mix in Thursday night in the high terrain of the Berkshires.
