JAMESTOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The U.S. Coast Guard responded to help a fishing boat that ran aground Monday morning off the coast of Jamestown.
The incident occurred just after midnight in the west passage between Austin Hollow and Beavertail State Park.
The Coast Guard said it appeared that some fuel leaked, which was likely diesel.
The boat was able to float during the morning's incoming tide and leave under its own power by about 9 a.m.
