Thousands across Jefferson, Orleans parish without power

JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Over 8,000 Entergy customers are without power on Monday, Nov. 18 in parts of Jefferson and Orleans parishes.
The outage reportedly happened around 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.

According to Entergy's Outage map, the outage stretches from Bark Street in Harvey to Parterson Drive in Algiers.
Currently, Entergy officials are reporting 6,702 customers affected in Jefferson Parish and 2,851 affected in Orleans Parish. They determined that the location of the outage was the Gretna Substation.
"Crews are on site now working to restore customers as quickly and as safely as possible. We’ll provide more information as it becomes available," said Entergy officials.
Algiers Ferry Terminal set to start major renovation
The cause of the outage remains under investigation. Power is expected to be restored by noon according to Entergy officials.
