LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — Big Blue Nation is rolling up their sleeves this week for the 37th annual “Big Blue Crush” blood drive, competing against Tennessee to see which state can gather the most blood donations.
The Kentucky Blood Center says the event kicks off today and continues through Friday. Kentucky currently leads the series against Tennessee and has won four of the last five competitions.
Donations can be made at any of the Kentucky Blood Center’s eight donor centers or mobile drives. According to organizers, participants this week will receive a “Big Blue Crush” long-sleeve shirt and a chance to win two tickets to the Kentucky vs. Louisville football game at Kroger Field on November 30th.
