INDIANAPOLIS — A teacher at Decatur Central High School was injured in a serious bodily crash on the southwest side of Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was dispatched to the 5200 block of Kentucky Avenue at 7:57 a.m. on a report of an accident. The school released a statement that said: We are deeply saddened to share that one of our own, a Decatur Central High School Teacher, was involved in an accident this morning on Kentucky Avenue, and has been transported for medical treatment. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the teacher, as well as family and the medical staff treating the teacher at this time. Out of respect for the family, who are still being notified, we are unable to share the teacher’s name at this moment. Thank you for your understanding. Recognizing that the accident was very visible to students and staff at the main entrance of DCHS, we have coordinated extra counseling support through Square 1 Therapy to be available for the students and staff at DCHS throughout the day.
