GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Throughout the month of October, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department offered students the chance to win a special ride to school through a poster contest. The 2024 Fire Safety Poster Contest was open to students in grades 1 through 5 who reside in the Village of Allouez, the Village of Bellvue, and the City of Green Bay. Green Bay Action Sports Organization holding its first-ever A-Thon fundraising event The winner of the contest in each grade would win a special ride to school on a Green Bay Metro Fire Department fire truck with the most popular poster winning a giant sprinkler party for the last day of school. So far the Green Bay Metro Fire Department has announced and given fire truck rides to the following poster contest winners: 1st grad winner - Allie Won a ride to school on Engine 2. The first pair of winners to be from the same household. 2nd grade winner - Sheena Won a ride to school on Engine 4 for herself and her twin sister. 3rd grade winner - Isabella Won a ride to school on Engine 2. The first pair of winners to be from the same household. 5th grade winner - Jade Won a ride to school on Engine 8. Winners Isabella and Allie. There will be a winner of the contest from each grade so the winner from 4th grade and the winner of the sprinkler party on the last day of school should be announced soon. Submissions for the 2024 contest closed in October and submissions for the 2025 Fire Safety Poster Contest are expected to open in September.
