ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WFRV) - As part of their Community Night, a celebration of Thanksgiving, food, and fun, officials with the Green Bay Action Sports Organization (GBASO) will be holding their first-ever A-Thon event. According to a release from GBASO, the fundraising A-Thon event will celebrate the youth in the greater Green Bay community while raising money for the nonprofit organization. Officials say the late founder of GBASO, Brian Schroeder, started the nonprofit to help youth in the community grow and succeed. President/CEO Mark Murphy to be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame As a part of the organization's community night, youth in the greater Green Bay community, ages 16 or younger, will be able to participate in a number of scheduled events. A full timeline of the scheduled events is as follows: 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.:  Open session with instruction for new riders 5:30 p.m.: Thanksgiving Style Buffet 6:00 p.m.:  Tic tac-a-thon (skateboarding competition) 7:00 p.m.:  Pump-a-thon (skateboarding competition) 6:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.: Open Skate Session Although the skating portions of the A-Thon event are only for those 16 years old and younger to participate in, event organizers say everyone is welcome to attend. GBASO's first-ever A-Thon event will take place on Friday, November 22. More information and pledge forms for the event can be found here.
