GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials announced on Monday morning that current Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy will be inducted into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame in August.
According to a release from the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc., Mark Murphy is in his 17th and final season as the President and CEO of the Green and Gold.
During his time as president and CEO, Murphy has overseen the Packers through a number of milestones and has led the organization to consistently being one of the NFL's premier franchises on and off the field.

Since taking over his current role in January 2008, the Green Bay Packers have gone to the playoffs 12 times including a team record eight straight times from 2009 to 2016. The Packers also made it to five NFC Championship games capped off with a Super Bowl XLV victory in the 2010-2011 NFL season.
Off the field, officials credit Murphy with directing the Packers' "master plan" for the Lambeau Field campus with over $600 million being invested all while being financed without public tax money.
That investment over the years has led to a number of additions and renovations all prioritized around enhancing the fan experience including the creation of Titletown, the 45-acre development that opened in 2017 and has since provided the Green Bay community and its visitors with year-round programming and entertainment.
Murphy has worked to also increase the number of outside events to utilize Lambeau Field which includes concerts, college football games, soccer matches, and the big one for 2025, the NFL Draft.
Officials say that the accomplishments Murphy has made in his current role complement his prior career achievements.
Before becoming President and CEO of the Packers, Murphy spent eight years playing in the NFL with the then Washington Reskins during which time he won Super Bowl XVII, making him the first person in NFL history to win a Super Bowl as a player and as a CEO.
After his playing career, he then spent time as an assistant executive director of the NFL Players Association, a trial attorney with the United States Department of Justice, and a combined 16 years as director of athletics at Colgate University and Northwestern University.

During the 54th Hall of Fame Induction Banquet on Thursday, August 28, officials say Murphy will be the 171st individual to be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame.
Murphy, who turns 70 in July and will retire as the Packers President and CEO as is required per organizational by-laws, does not have to wait the four seasons that a player would have to after retiring to be eligible for the Packers Hall of Fam as other contributors, or non-players, are eligible for introduction at any time.
The Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame Inc. says tickets and more information about the 54th Hall of Fame Induction Banquet are still being finalized with more details expected to be released soon.
