Nov 18, 2024
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) On November 18, 1984, Kent Roe was sworn in as an Indiana State Police trooper. Forty years later he's being recognized for his years of service.
Initially he was assigned to the Lowell Post to patrol interstates in northwest Indiana.
In 1987 he was transferred home to the Fort Wayne Post and has remained there ever since.
Master Trooper Roe has been primarily assigned to patrol duties in Allen County over the course of his career, but also served with the ISP Emergency Response Team II (SWAT) for eight years. In the early 90's he was assigned to the High Performance Vehicle program, where he patrolled in one of the departments unmarked Ford Mustangs.
Master Trooper Roe remains assigned to patrol duties in Allen County. He and his wife Debbie are longtime residents of Allen County. Together they have three adult children and five grandchildren.
On behalf of Superintendent Doug Carter (also a graduate of the 42nd ISP Recruit Academy), Indiana State Police congratulates and commends Master Trooper Roe for reaching this milestone achievement.
