EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A pedestrian, identified as a 38-year-old man from Humble, Texas, has died after he was struck by a vehicle late Sunday night, Nov. 18, on Interstate 10 East, according to El Paso Police. Apparent fatal crash closes down I-10 in East El Paso The crash happened a little after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at I-10 East near the Zaragoza exit. That's when police say Siddharth Mukherjee, 38, crossed in front of a vehicle that was traveling along the highway and was struck. Mukherjee died as a result of his injuries, police say. The Special Traffic Investigations unit responded to the crash. Interstate 10 East was closed at Zaragoza until about 5 a.m. when it reopened. A pedestrian on the roadway is a contributing factor in this crash, police say. This is the 61st traffic fatality this year inside the El Paso City limits, compared to 71 last year at the same time.
