'Wicked' star to perform with the Colorado Symphony

DENVER (KDVR) — Recently, she starred on the big screen as the "Wicked Witch of the West," but soon, she will perform alongside the Colorado Symphony.
On Monday, the Colorado Symphony announced that Cynthia Erivo would headline the 2025 benefit concert.

The 2025 Colorado Symphony Frontier Gala will host Erivo on May 10, 2025. During the evening, Erivo will be backed by the full orchestra as they raise money for the symphony's fundraising efforts.
"This benefit concert offers patrons a unique opportunity to enjoy world-class music while supporting one of Denver’s leading cultural institutions and its community education programs. While 'An Evening with Cynthia Erivo and the Colorado Symphony' is part of the Symphony’s Frontier Gala experience, the concert itself is open to all, allowing the broader public to join in this celebration of music and community impact," said the symphony in a press release.
The concert will take place on May 10, 2025, at 8 p.m. at the Boettcher Concert Hall.
Presale tickets are available now through Tuesday, and public sale will begin on Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. Gala tickets will include concert admission.
"The price of each ticket includes a $25 tax-deductible donation — contributing directly to the Colorado Symphony's mission of ensuring the future of live, symphonic music with innovative and diverse programming, educational and outreach initiatives, renowned guest artists, and revered symphonic works," said the symphony.

Erivo has become a household name in the past few weeks as her blockbuster movie is set to be released Friday. Erivo will grace the big screen as the misunderstood -- and green -- Elphaba in "Wicked," alongside Ariana Grande as Glinda.
Before "Wicked," Erivo won a Tony, Emmy and Grammy for her stage and screen performances. She is also a two-time Oscar nominee. Erivo has starred in "The Color Purple," "Harriet," among others.
