BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) -- Some local restaurants will be open if you're not planning on cooking for the Thanksgiving holiday and would rather go out to dine on turkey and traditional sides. The Thanksgiving Day holiday falls on Thursday, Nov. 28, this year. A few popular restaurants in the area will be open on Turkey Day and serving holiday meals. Reservations are encouraged for some places. Menu items include soups; salads; must-have entrees like turkey, ham and fish; and classic sides like mashed potatoes, casseroles and mac and cheese. Here are some Baton Rouge restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Thanksgiving 2024: Where in Baton Rouge to get turkey, ham, sides and sweets in catering, to-go meals Places open on Thanksgiving Day in Baton Rouge 1717 Kitchen + Cocktails This restaurant inside The Queen Baton Rouge will have a special seasonal dish with turkey, sides and dessert. Reservations can be made online. BRQ Restaurant This local place will be open on the holiday, serving a special three-course menu with sides. Turkey and ham are on the menu, along with sides like parmesan mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole and green bean casserole. The cost will be $34 per person. Make a reservation online. Burger King Hours vary by franchised location during the holidays, according to the company. People can confirm hours of operation at local Burger Kings or by using the app. Cracker Barrel Cracker Barrel will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Dine in during regular hours or order to-go from a simplified menu available now. Crowne Plaza Baton Rouge Enjoy a buffet with turkey, ham and some Louisiana cuisine like mirliton and shrimp dressing, oyster dressing and crabcakes with remoulade sauce. Reservations can be made on the website. IHOP A spokesperson for the company said IHOP locations will be open on Thanksgiving. L'Auberge Casino Hotel A Thanksgiving Day buffet will be available at the Bon Temps Market from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. for $34.99 per person. Little Village - Airline The Airline location will be open on Thanksgiving from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. while the downtown location will be closed, according to the owner. Mansurs on the Boulevard The holiday menu at this fine dining restaurant on Corporate Boulevard has charbroiled oysters, redfish, shrimp and grits, lobster and duck. Sullivan's Steakhouse This restaurant will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and serve guests a three-course holiday dinner. The Gregory This year's menu has a carving station with roasted turkey breast, honey bourbon-glazed ham and redfish couvillion. Starters, sides and sweets will be available. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost will be $68 for adults and $28 for children ages 4-12. Make a reservation online. Waffle House It's rare to see a Waffle House closed, even on holidays. Double-check the hours of the closest restaurant location using the locator on the website. Wendy's A spokesperson said many Wendy's locations will be open, but hours could vary.
