Officials say firefighters responded in minutes and found smoking coming from the inside of the two-story townhome and were able to confirm the fire was extinguished upon entering the home.
It was reported that the De Pere Police Department and a neighboring townhome used fire extinguishers to put out the fire before and all residents of the home evacuated on their own prior to the fire department's arrival.
The fire was able to be contained to just the kitchen area of the home and smoke damage to the home's first floor is said to be estimated at $3,000.
