Anonymity means success for an offensive lineman. When no one was around Alex Forsyth’s locker after the Broncos’ 38-6 rout of the Falcons, it signaled that the worst moment in his NFL career was finally behind him. One week after getting knocked down as the Chiefs knocked out the Broncos with a blocked field goal, Forsyth had no issues in protection after moving outside to the tackle position, flip-flopping with Matt Peart. “I just feel like we are really resilient and try not to let anything phase us as a team,” Forsyth told The Denver Post. “Instead, it helped us grow closer together.” Kicker Wil Lutz converted five extra points and a 45-yard field goal in the win after last week’s upset bid of the Chiefs was foiled when his 35-yard attempt was swatted into the ground. It was a tumultuous week for the special teams group as senior assistant and longtime coach Mike Westhoff stepped down from his job because of health problems related to his vision. The Broncos players defended Forsyth, pointing out that a single play was not responsible for the loss even if the former Oregon standout understandably felt that way. “It meant a lot to have their support. I felt really bad about everything. You never want to go out there and have a bad performance,” Forsyth said. “I had a lot of support from the guys and we kind of fixed things that needed to be fixed. It was a tough week, but I am glad I had my teammates behind me.” Related Articles Denver Broncos | Broncos shut down RB Bijan Robinson in dominating win over Falcons Denver Broncos | Broncos QB Bo Nix torches Falcons, kicks rookie of the year campaign into high gear: “It’s clear he belongs here” Denver Broncos | Keeler: Justin Simmons talked smack about Broncos pregame.
