Norfolk extends partnership with TFC Recycling for curbside services

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- The City of Norfolk has continued its partnership with TFC Recycling to provide curbside recycling services. For over 20 years, TFC Recycling has delivered this essential city service to more than 61,000 households.
Earlier this year, Virginia Beach also continued its relationship with TFC to serve 125,000 households. The commitment positions both Hampton Roads cities as a regional leader in sustainability and waste reduction.

Recent surveys indicated Norfolk and Virginia Beach residents believe recycling is essential for environment stewardship and support the curbside service as the most efficient and effective way to reuse waste and divert materials from landfills, per a release.
Recyclables collected from residents will be processed at TFC's state-of-the-art Materials Recovery Facility, where they recently invested $3 million for a new Master Control system. TFC was also recently awarded a $500,000 grant to make additional upgrades at its Materials Recovery Facility, enhancing its capacity and processing efficiency. New additions will include AI-powered optical sorters and cutting-edge screens.
