Southeast Wisconsin weather: Chilly overnight, rain Monday into Tuesday

Skies will clear out late tonight and winds will become light, allowing temperatures to plummet. Inland temperatures will drop to near 30, with lows in the upper 30s near Lake Michigan.Storm Team 4 is monitoring a more dynamic weather pattern this week. An area of low-pressure moves up from the southwest, bringing widespread rain to the Great Lakes.Monday morning clouds will increase, and after 1 pm rain showers will move in from south to north. Highs will remain above average, despite the rain, topping out in the mid-50s. Winds will increase through the afternoon and be gusty by Monday night and early Tuesday. Light to moderate rain will continue Monday night through early Tuesday as well.Rain will taper off through Tuesday morning, largely ending by lunchtime Tuesday. In total, we expect to see anywhere from 0.5-1" of rainfall.Clouds and gusty winds stick around. Tuesday will be our last mild day with highs near 60-degrees. A cold front moves in Tuesday night, that's when cooler air will arrive.As cold sets in and moisture lingers, a few snow showers will likely mix with rain late Wednesday into Thursday. Accumulations are not expected. Rain looks to taper off by Friday.Much of the week will be breezy, bringing an additional chill to the cooler temperatures.Lastly, this coming week is Winter Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin.
