Weather Authority Alert: Powerful winds overnight into early morning hours
Nov 17, 2024
It's The Football on Sunday night on KTSM, and as always, your news team picks the winner of tonight's game. Just like the weather, a "storm" is coming tonight. Why? How? Monica Cortez, who has the BEST RECORD of picking the winner, has selected the L.A. Chargers, the same team I picked!!! This is glorious because tonight, "I HAVE A CHANCE!!" Yes!! Of course, the other members of the anchor team are feeling that this game just might knock Monica off the top spot because (let's be honest) I am the kiss of death for choosing the football.
As for the other "storm" coming, it's coming in the form of powerful wind gusts that are likely to start just past midnight tonight. The winds will be strongest on the east slopes. Your forecast is below.
TONIGHT: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to the strong winds that will pick up overnight/early morning. Expect cloudy skies with periodic rain showers through much of the night. The winds will remain fairly light until midnight, when they'll pick up and range from 15 to 45 mph. The strongest gusts will be on the east slopes. The low will drop to 44.
FORECAST: Monday will be mostly sunny but very, very windy. The W-NW winds will gust to near 55 mph with the strongest gusts on the east slopes. The high will be 63, but the winds will make it feel much, much colder. Tuesday will be sunny with lighter winds and a high of 66. We are likely to see our first official freeze Wednesday morning with a low of 31 at the airport. Wednesday will be sunny and 69 with light winds. Thursday will be sunny and 77. Friday will be partly cloudy with a high of 79. Saturday will be mostly sunny and windy with a high of 81.
