BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a single off-road vehicle that overturned on Sunday afternoon. At about 2:11 p.m., officers responded to reports of a off-road vehicle collision in the 11000 block of Kern Canyon Road, just east of the roadway in the foothills. A male passenger was pronounced dead on scene, according to police. A preliminary investigation revealed a four-seater, off-road vehicle was traveling up a hill when it struck a rut and flipped. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police say drugs and alcohol are not factors in this situation. The identity of the decedent will be released by the Kern County Coroner’s Office. This is an ongoing investigation.
