SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) –The University of Rhode Island released a letter today which said that Director of Student Involvement and the Memorial Union Maureen McDermott died after a pedestrian crash on Nov. 6.
In the statement the university said that McDermott worked at the school for 43 years and worked with all of the student organizations on campus.
The university added that resources will be available on campus for students.
The student who was involved with the crash was “fully cooperative and receiving student support services from the university.”
