1: Farmers face fines, jail if they don’t register under this federal program by Jan. 1, 2025. Jan. 1, 2025, is the deadline to file Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) with the U.S. Department of Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. One report suggests more than 230,000 farms are required to file, but government data indicates less than 11% of all eligible businesses nationwide have done so.
2: The most common dog names in North Dakota. Naming trends do vary across the country—what's popular in Milwaukee may be very different from the #1 name in Maui. To find out the five most common dog names in North Dakota, nearly 811,800 data points were analyzed from a pet insurance company in September and October 2023 to determine the ranking.
3: Man arrested in Bismarck for sex crimes. A man is now facing jail time after investigators say they found inappropriate content involving children on his phone.
4: Dakota Bowl XXXII: Game Central. The 2024 NDHSAA Dakota Bowl XXXII State Championship started Friday morning, November 15, at 9:00 a.m., and ran into the evening as eight teams vied for football glory at the Fargodome.
5: Burgum named to Trump’s cabinet as Interior Secretary. President-elect Donald Trump has named North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to his cabinet as his interior secretary. Trump made the announcement Thursday evening, saying, "He's going to head the Department of Interior and he's going to be fantastic."
