East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office investigating shooting that left one man dead

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a local man found shot and killed in an apartment complex hallway.
According to a news release from EBRSO, deputies were called to apartments in the 11700 block of Nicholson Drive around 8:25 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 16, regarding a shooting. At the scene, they found Johnathan James, 27, dead in a hall.
This investigation is ongoing.
According to EBRSO crime data for this year, the department has tracked 42 counts of homicide and 54 counts of attempted homicide.
