Cultural Association of India Wichita celebrates Diwali, Festival of Lights

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – Diwali is South Asia's Festival of Lights. The Wichita South Asian community came together Saturday to celebrate the festival for Diwali Night 2024 at the Century II Performing Arts Center.
The festival celebrates the victory of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance. Multiple faiths observe this festival, and this event highlighted the South Asian community's presence in Wichita.

"We want to see double the crowd next year and hopefully. I mean, we do have a lot of sponsorship this year, but local Wichita business people need to realize that this is the event that happens where people come, and you have a one-stop shop for trying to showcase your business as well," said Rajaram Rao, Secretary of Cultural Association of India.
