Teen Suspected of Making Threats Toward Vendor in Downtown Lincoln

Lincoln Police cruiser. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR Nov. 15)–A 16-year-old male has been referred after he allegedly pointed a gun toward a hot dog vender after an argument late Friday night in downtown Lincoln.
According to Lincoln Police, the incident happened near 14th and “O” Street, where UNL police told LPD investigators a pickup was in the area and the 16-year-old starting arguing with the vendor, then pointed a handgun at him before driving off northbound. The truck was later stopped and after getting consent, officers found two handguns concealed in the truck. It was also determined the 16-year-old was under the influence.
No one was hurt.
The teen was referred to the Youth Assessment Center for terroristic threats, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and carrying a concealed handgun under the influence among other offenses.
Police say the teen was cited for minor in possession, having an open alcohol container and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
