BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- An overnight fire occurred Sunday at a vacant home on Deshler Street, Buffalo fire officials announced, which marks the third time it has caught fire in almost two months. Crews responded at 3:15 a.m. to the fire at 23 Deshler St., a 2 1/2-story structure. Officials said there was no additional damage done to the building, which is set to be demolished after previous fires that occurred in September and earlier this month. The two previous fires caused an estimated total of $230,000 in damages. Sunday morning's fire caused exposure damage to the outside of the neighboring property at 25 Deshler St., officials said, causing an estimated $10,000 in damage. Its contents were unaffected. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no injuries were reported. The blaze marks the seventh fire that has occurred at a vacant home in a one-mile radius in the last two months, with one on Miller Avenue one week ago, one on Ohio Street two weeks ago, and one on Brownell Street and then Broadway in September. At the time, a city spokesperson said the Miller Avenue fire does not appear to be related to the others. The fire on Ohio Street was also believed at the time to be unrelated to the Deshler Street fire, a city spokesperson said in earlier this month.
