VCU Remains Undefeated with a 8357 win Over Loyola (Md.)

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- VCU rolled to an 83-57 win over Loyola (Md.) on Saturday night at the Stuart C. Siegel Center, improving to 4-0 on the season. The Rams dominated the second half, outscoring the Greyhounds 47-27 and shooting 60.7 percent from the field. Jack Clark, Joe Bamisile, and Max Shulga each scored 20 or more points, marking the first time in 14 years that three VCU players have done so in the same game.
Clark led all scorers with 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He also grabbed six rebounds. Shulga recorded a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds, adding seven assists and five steals. Bamisile contributed 22 points and five rebounds, drawing seven fouls to get to the free throw line nine times.
The Rams' defense was a key factor, holding Loyola to just 33 percent shooting for the game, including 29 percent in the second half. VCU forced 17 turnovers, which resulted in 21 points, and controlled the glass with 12 offensive rebounds that led to 17 second-chance points. The Greyhounds were led by Braeden Speed and Milos Ilic, who each scored 10 points.
The win marks VCU’s best start since the 2019-20 season when they opened 6-0. The Rams will next head to Charleston, S.C., for the Shriners Children's Hospital Charleston Classic, where they will face Seton Hall on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. on ESPN2.
