RandolphMacon Takes Down HampdenSydney 276, Extends Winning Streak in “The Game”

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- No. 15 Randolph-Macon defeated Hampden-Sydney 27-6 on Saturday, securing their 11th consecutive win in the 129th meeting of "The Game". The Yellow Jackets shut out the Tigers 27-0 in the second half after trailing 6-0 at halftime.
Hampden-Sydney took an early 6-0 lead with a touchdown on their opening drive, but missed the extra point. Randolph-Macon’s defense held strong, including a key interception by senior Coleton Payne. In the second half, RMC quickly took control, with senior Kwesi Clarke scoring a 23-yard touchdown to give them a 7-6 lead. The Yellow Jackets added two more touchdowns, one on a 12-yard pass from Dante Casciola to Jason Moore, and another with a 17-yard run by Clarke.
Despite a strong drive by Hampden-Sydney to the RMC 2-yard line, the Yellow Jacket defense held firm and stopped the Tigers from scoring. RMC added another touchdown late, with junior Mitchell Johnson running it in from two yards out to seal the 27-6 win.
RMC rushed for 231 yards, with Clarke leading the way with 96 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Casciola ran for 92 yards and threw for 101 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Tony Skinner had 11 tackles, and Owen Arruza added three sacks.
With the win, Randolph-Macon secured its third straight ODAC title and earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Playoffs. The NCAA selection show will take place on Sunday, Nov. 17, at 5 p.m. ET.
