Hawaii women's volleyball sweeps UCSD on senior night

The University of Hawaii women's volleyball team swept UC San Diego 25-16, 25-13, 25-19 on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
A season-high Stan Sheriff Center turnstile crowd of 7,109 had an emotional start to the night as seniors Kate Lang and Tayli Ikenaga both shed tears during the pregame introductions in what was UH's home finale in 2024.

Hawaii improved to 18-8 overall and 12-4 in Big West Conference play, staying squarely in the Big West regular season conference title race prior to the conference tournament.
Caylen Alexander had a match-high 14 kills and five digs with five blocks, while Lang had a mach-high 36 assists with nine digs. Meanwhile, Ikenaga had a match-high 17 digs with four assists. As a team, UH had 13 blocks.
Ava McInnes had a team-high 10 kills for UC San Diego (17-8, 11-5 Big West).
Hawaii will close out its regular season on the road with a pair of matches before the conference tournament, starting with Cal State Fullerton on Friday at 4 p.m. HST.
