ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque is full of close-knit communities looking out for each other, and on Saturday, the West Mesa community showed off their love and pride for their piece of the metro. The West Mesa Community Center hosted its third annual fall festival, an event known for reasonably priced artwork, one-of-a-kind crafts, and a beloved soup kitchen. APS students help collect pantry goods for McKinney-Vento Program "The fall fest is best known for supporting our local artists and business[es]. We try to get them to come out here to the community at a fair and affordable price, and then the soup kitchen, my family makes all of the soups. My mother-in-law makes the posole. My mom makes goulash. My dad makes green Chile stew, and then one of our employees made an amazing minestrone, and that's all free to the community too," said West Mesa Community Center Recreation Supervisor Raquel Cordova-Martinez. Around 400 people are estimated to have attended the event.
