Crash leaves 1 dead, 2 seriously injured in Stafford County, police say

STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) -- Virginia State Police (VSP) said it is investigating after a two-vehicle crash left one person dead and two others seriously injured early Saturday morning in Stafford County.
VSP said that at about 4 a.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 95 at the 146-mile marker.

According to VSP, a Volvo SUV was driving in the wrong direction when it crashed head-on with a Chevrolet Sedan.
All southbound lanes were closed for about five hours while police investigated and cleared the scene.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) helped with the road closures and detours.
