Nov. 11, hundreds of these "wanted" posters were discovered on campus. Public Safety leaders described the posters targeting Jewish faculty members as antisemitic in nature and encouraged the public to refrain from posting any identifying information on the posters to protect the individuals impacted.
Earlier this week, university officials said in a statement that some of the individuals questioned through the investigation were students, while others had "questionable enrollment status."
In Friday's update, Chief Quchee Collins with the Department of Public Safety noted that no one has been formally charged but ensured that school officials were working with the Monroe County District Attorney's Office to explore their options.
More information regarding the investigation is expected to come out early next week. No other details regarding the five people in question have been released.
Meanwhile, on Friday university leaders said a sign at UR Medicine's Brighton Health Center was found "purposefully damaged." The sign has since been covered up.
"While words added to the sign could be linked to our recent events, we can’t speculate on a possible connection while this incident is investigated," Collins explained.
Anyone with information that can help authorities with either investigation is asked to call Public Safety at (585) 275-3333.
