(KRON) – The Oakland Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred Friday night.  Oakland police officers responded to a shooting in the 1200 block of 86th Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Responding officers located a victim who sustained a gunshot wound(s).  Medical personnel also responded to the scene. However, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.  First known case of mpox strain reported in Bay Area county The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin, according to OPD.   Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the OPD Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821.
