Thief arrested after concealing merchandise in suitcase: Colma police

(KRON) – A Fremont resident was arrested for grand theft after police said he concealed store merchandise inside a suitcase, according to the Colma Police Department.
The theft occurred around 9:01 p.m. on Wednesday at a retail store in the Metro Mall Shopping Center. The responding officers were informed that a man “concealed merchandise inside a suitcase.” Officers were also told the suspect, later identified as Fremont resident Roberto Cuencacisneros, was still in the store walking around.

Cuencacisneros, 23, fled as soon as police located him. Colma PD said Cuencacisneros was detained after a short pursuit.
According to Colma police, Cuencacisneros stole approximately $1,314.48 worth of merchandise from the store. It was also determined that Cuencacisneros committed two other burglaries at the same shopping center within a month, adding $880 worth of merchandise he had stolen.
Cuencacisneros was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for grand theft, resisting a police officer and possession of burglary tools.
