SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Massachusetts RMV is urging residents to act now and apply for a REAL ID.
The federal requirement will go into place on May 7, 2025.
This means those who wish to travel domestically or enter certain federal facilities will need to have a REAL ID.
Those who do not, will be asked to provide their passport.
"I haven't gotten it yet. I came here to the RMV to get my REAL ID with my license renewal but I was missing one critical piece of paper" says Chris Berlin of Cambridge.
"I do plan on getting a REAL ID, I just brought my daughter in for her permit and need to get one" says Michael Usher of Wilbraham.
